Status: Now Open

About:  Small place with a 94 people occupancy capacity! Open from 11am to whenever they run out of food (typically before 4pm). Service – people were very friendly and quick to serve you.

2.  Jimmy Chew’s 

Location: Montrose (Westheimer near Dunlavy)

Status:  Now Open

About:  F Bar owners are opening this Asain fusion style restaurant.  They will be open very late for all the Montrose bar-goers

3.  TacoDeli

Location:  1902 Washington Ave

Status:  Opening Fall/Winter 2016

About:  Austin-based taco store opening in Houston that promotes organic and quality products.  We got the chance to try their tacos at an event in Houston and they were delicious!!

4.  Good Dog Houston (West Alabama)

Location:  Montrose (W. Alabama St) and Heights (Studewood St) locations

Status:  Now Open.  Grand Opening Oct 15th.

About:  First a food truck and now two brick and mortar locations!  Don’t you just love when that happens??  They are dog friendly on their front porch.  They don’t just have hot dogs but they also have salads and shakes 🙂

Location: Montrose

Status:  Now Open

About: FINALLY.  Amazing brunch that everyone raves about and finally we can confirm, it is amazing.  They do not take reservations and the wait could be as long as 2 hours so try to go during the week or super early!

6.  Yucatan

Location: Montrose

Status:  Opening Fall 2016

About:  Another Yucatan Taco Stand is opening!  Formerly the space of Berryhill in Montrose, Yucatan Taco Stand will offer tacos, burrito bowls and margaritas 🙂  It is right down the street from Snooze – hit breakfast and lunch all at once… good luck!

7. SumoMaya

Location:  River Oaks District

Status:  Opening late Summer, early Fall

About: Mexican Asian restaurant from Scottsdale, Arizona coming to River Oaks District late Summer.

8.  Love Buzz

Location:   Montrose (on Westheimer)

Status:  Now Open

About:  They have skee ball machines, foosball, airhockey and pizza.  Not to mention daily happy hours.  Their pizza won second place in a Houston Press pizza competition (read here)

9.  Govinda’s Vegetarian Cuisine

Location:  Heights (34th St)

Status:  Now Open

About:  Cafeteria (buffet) style restaurant open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.  The only all vegetarian restaurant inside the loop.

Location:  Montrose (W. Alabama St)

Status: Now Open

About:  Making beer based cocktails at the new dog friendly bar on West Alabama.  They made our top patio list that we will shortly post so look out 🙂

Location: Montrose (Richmond and Dunlavy)

About:  All we have to say is check out the yelp reviews on this place, 5 stars all around.  They offer Texas gulf coast shrimp with a Mexican Twist

About:  Originally a pizza food truck and now a brick and mortar.  The second one on the list!!

13.  Le Colonial 

Location:  River Oaks District 

Status:  Now Open

About:  This French inspired Vietnamese restaurant made it’s way from NY to Houston.  We would give it $$$$ after looking at the prices on the menu but that should not stop you from venturing to this new restaurant.

Location:  Galleria on Post Oak Blvd

Status:  Now Open

About: Souffle restaurant that started in Dallas as Rise No. 1 has finally made it’s way to Houston.  There are savory and sweet souffles to choose from.

About:  Drive-thru vietnamese sandwich shop and pho.  There is also a small indoor seating area.
