Anyone been dying to know a great exercise to get kick ass, defined, and strong triceps?! Well skull crushers are your answer (also called lying tricep extensions)!
Do not be intimidated by the name. This exercise is about moving in the motion of crushing your skull, BUT before you get to that point, you lift your hands with the weight back upward which will activate that tricep.
This is a great workout because it really isolates your tricep. Also if you have any wrist injuries, this shouldn’t bother you.
So how do you go about doing a skull crusher? Watch the video below and read our directions for a more detailed explanation:
- Lie on a flat bench with feet on ground
- Grip barbell with an overhand grip and lift directly above you. Your arms should be shoulder width apart. Make sure you maintain this distance and don’t let your elbows move outward.
- Bend the arms at the elbow towards your forehead. Bring your hands as close to your forehead without touching it, then return your hands to the starting position.
- We like to start with 15 reps, then 12 reps, then 8 reps and increase the weight each time we go.
- Good luck!
